Athene joined Oxford Science Enterprises in January 2022, bringing over 18 years of transactional, public company, and international business experience both as a lawyer and business leader.
At OSE, Athene leads the legal function and supports the Board and its committees as Company Secretary. This involves execution of spin-out, investment and exit transactions, developing OSE’s relationships with and within the University, and providing legal support to OSE’s operations.
Prior to OSE, she was Managing Director of Benchmark Holdings plc’s Advanced Nutrition Division, and before this Group Legal Counsel of Benchmark Holdings plc. Athene has also served as a NED for the Great Salt Lake Brine Shrimp Cooperative in Utah, USA.
Athene trained and qualified as a solicitor at Slaughter and May, before working in the Corporate Finance teams there and at Travers Smith.
Athene holds a BA in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford.
