Early cancer detection saves lives, but current DNA sequencing methods are costly, complex, or miss early signs of disease.
Base Genomics developed TAPS, a breakthrough DNA sequencing technology that preserves DNA methylation to enable earlier higher-sensitivity cancer detection from a simple blood test. Co-founded by Oxford scientists Dr Yibin Liu and Dr Chunxiao Song, alongside OSE Entrepreneur-in-Residence Ollie Waterfield, the company was acquired by Exact Sciences in 2020 for $410m upfront.
