Scientist-in-Residence, Deep Tech
Mark is a Scientist-in-Residence in the Deep Tech team at Oxford Science Enterprises. He works closely with Oxford academics to surface high-potential science and plays a critical role in the technical assessment of early-stage investment opportunities – ensuring OSE backs research with real commercial promise.
He joined in 2025 with deep expertise in chemistry and materials science. Mark was previously a Research Fellow at Imperial College London, where he led an independent programme in chemical innovation. He also held an EPFL Fellowship at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, following academic posts at the University of Oxford.
Mark holds an MChem and DPhil from Oxford and has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers. He’s also secured significant research funding from institutions including the Leverhulme Trust, the European Research Council (ERC), and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
