Joel Schoppig
Principal, HealthTech
Joel is a seasoned healthtech operator turned investor, bringing extensive experience in operations and a focus on AI to Oxford Science Enterprises. He joined OSE from Pitango, a $3bn+ AuM fund, where he was a senior investor focusing on early-stage healthtech deals.
Prior to Pitango, Joel was part of the founding team and VP of Strategy and BD at Healthy.io. He joined the company, which launched pioneering clinical products using the embedded smartphone camera, as the first non-technical hire in 2014, building the business up from concept stage to global commercial scale.
Previously Joel worked in public health as an advisor to the Nigerian Ministry of Health on healthcare financing. He started his career with roles in management consulting and finance in London.
Joel holds graduate degrees from the London School Economics and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and an undergraduate degree from the University of Zurich.
