Chief Executive Officer
Ed is responsible for leading OSE’s strategic vision, direction, and operation – ensuring we execute efficiently on our mission to deliver maximum value for our stakeholders by translating scientific research into transformational companies.
Ed joined OSE in September 2023, bringing more than 20 years of business leadership, entrepreneurial and venture building experience.
A serial entrepreneur, Ed launched, scaled and successfully exited three venture backed, disruptive technology businesses during his career. These include one of the UK’s first ecommerce businesses figleaves.com (acquired by N Brown Group), mobile app pioneer ZYB (acquired by Vodafone) and most recently the award-winning, multi-language ecommerce content platform Quill (acquired by global digital agency Jellyfish).
Recognised as a technology thought leader in the UK, Ed has been awarded ‘UK Entrepreneur of the Year’, ‘Disruptor of the Year’, and ‘Heropreneur of the Year’, recognising the most successful UK military veteran entrepreneur. He also sits on the Oxford-Cambridge SuperCluster Board, an industry-government partnership to create the UK’s first science and innovation supercluster.
Ed started his career serving with the UK military and national security agencies. He studied finance at INSEAD and holds a BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
