Athene Blakeman
General Counsel
Athene leads the legal and compliance function at Oxford Science Enterprises and serves as Company Secretary, advising the Board and overseeing governance. She advises across fundraising and shareholder matters, investment transactions, exits, portfolio management, regulatory and compliance, risk management, and legal relationships such as with the University of Oxford.
She was previously CEO of INVE Aquaculture, having earlier served as Group Legal Counsel for the Benchmark Holdings plc group. A qualified solicitor, Athene trained at Slaughter and May and worked in corporate finance at Slaughter and May and Travers Smith.
She holds a BA in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford.
