A packed room at The Ned in London set the tone for this year’s Oxford Science Enterprises (OSE) Annual Shareholder Event, bringing together our shareholders, partners and portfolio companies at a moment of real momentum for the business.
2025 marked a significant milestone for OSE and this year’s event was an opportunity to share that progress in detail.
A landmark year
Over the past 12 months, our portfolio has stepped up a gear. We made 12 new-company investments, and we delivered two successful exits – Oxford Ionics and Dark Blue Therapeutics.
These outcomes represent more than individual successes. They demonstrate that our model works.
With access to Oxford’s exceptional scientific ecosystem, combined with our venture-building capability, we are creating and scaling companies in a systematic and repeatable way. Our focus now is clear: to build on this foundation and deliver consistently across the portfolio.
Sharing our strategy and momentum
During the event, CEO Edward Bussey outlined our core priorities and our 5-year strategy, highlighting how we are positioned to scale our model further.
Jack Edmondson and Jim Wilkinson shared an overview of our financial position and the commercial momentum across the portfolio, reinforcing the strength of our platform and the progress being made across multiple sectors.
We also had three portfolio companies present, bringing the model to life – Stateful Robotics, Oath Surgical and Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC).
Each company represented a different stage of the journey, from early development through to commercial deployment, offering a tangible view of how we turn breakthrough science into real, scalable businesses.
Looking ahead
While the past year has been defined by strong progress, our focus remains firmly on what comes next.
With a growing pipeline of high-potential companies and a proven venture-building model, we are well positioned to continue scaling our impact – for our shareholders, for Oxford, and for the wider innovation ecosystem.
