Porpoise Power

The world needs new sources of baseload clean energy that are low-cost, scalable, and easy to deploy – to power the next generation of datacentres, manufacturing and electrified industries.

Porpoise Power is developing just that. Inspired by the motion of porpoise fins, its hydropower systems generate clean electricity from tidal streams with flexible fin-like structures.

By generating power at lower flow rates, Porpoise can avoid harsh marine environments with costly CAPEX and operations and maintenance, instead operating in more benign coastal environments, closer to consumer demand and at power ranges benefitting from off-the-shelf electric vehicle motors.
