Latent Logic

Teaching driverless cars to understand human behaviour to ensure safe coexistence

Research shows that autonomous driving is safer than human driving. But for autonomous vehicles to interact safely with the real world, which includes human drivers, they need to understand how people behave.

Founded by Oxford AI expert Professor Shimon Whiteson and robotics specialist Dr Joao Messias, Latent Logic uses cutting-edge artificial intelligence to simulate realistic human behaviour – helping to train and test autonomous vehicles in complex, real-world scenarios.

Acquired by Waymo (Alphabet’s self-driving technology company) in 2019, Latent Logic’s technology is helping shape the future of safe, human-aware self-driving transport.
