Traditional helmets don’t protect the wearer from rotational motion, which is present in the majority of head impacts that cause Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

HEXR’s Release Layer System (RLS) has revolutionised head protection. Co-founded by Jamie Cook and materials scientist Professor Mark Miodownik, the company’s patented technology reduces concussion risk by enabling panels on the exterior of a helmet to roll and release upon impact, significantly dissipating the rotational force that can cause life-changing brain injuries.

RLS was shown to reduce the relative risk of concussion by 76% compared to conventional helmets and by 63% when compared to helmets equipped with competitor safety tech. HEXRs priority is to partner and license the tech to mainstream helmet brands across categories and protect as many users as possible.
