Much of the world’s lithium sits in brine deposits, but extraction relies on evaporation methods that are slow, costly and environmentally damaging. Existing direct lithium extraction technologies work well for high-grade brines, but remain cost-prohibitive for lower-grade ones.

Eligentis has developed a sorbent technology with high lithium uptake and selectivity, manufactured at low cost. It captures lithium whilst rejecting other minerals, unlocking cheaper, cleaner extraction from hard-to-process brines. Sorbents are designed and manufactured in Europe, enabling scalable, sustainable production.

The company is led by CEO Simon Gardner-Bond (critical minerals investor, formerly TechMet and Cornish Lithium), CTO Dr Jindui Hong, and Chairman Dr Kevin Matthews.
