Caudal Energy

Delivering baseload energy from tidal streams

Caudal Energy is addressing a central challenge in the renewable energy transition: providing predictable, scalable, cost-effective power that can complement intermittent sources such as wind and solar, while reducing grid volatility and supporting long-term energy security.

Caudal is developing a modular, fin-based tidal energy system inspired by marine mammal hydrodynamics. Its surface-mounted oscillating foil technology is designed to generate reliable renewable power from a broader range of tidal sites than traditional turbine systems.

The company was founded to challenge the assumption that tidal energy has to remain complex, costly and niche. By generating power at lower flow rates, Caudal can avoid harsh marine environments with costly CAPEX, operations and maintenance, instead operating in more benign coastal environments, closer to consumer demand.
