Oxford, UK – 20 March 2025 – Oxford Science Enterprises (OSE) today announces the appointment of Mark Chadwick as Scientist-in-Residence (SIR) within its Deep Tech team, a role designed to deepen OSE’s technical insight and strengthen engagement with Oxford’s academic community.
A University of Oxford alumnus, Mark holds an MChem and a DPhil in Chemistry. He went on to conduct postdoctoral research and hold a teaching position at Magdalen College before being awarded an EPFL Fellowship at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland. Most recently, he established his own research programme as a Research Fellow at Imperial College London.
Mark has built an impressive track record in cutting-edge chemical research, with more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and significant research funding from organisations including the Leverhulme Trust, the European Research Council (ERC) and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
In his new role, Mark will support OSE’s Deep Tech team to identify and evaluate high-potential scientific opportunities, strengthen relationships with Oxford academics, and provide technical insight to guide investment decisions.
Sam Harman, Partner and Head of Deep Tech at OSE, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Mark to the team. His expertise, combined with his lived experience leading research programmes at top institutions, will be invaluable as we continue to identify and support breakthrough innovations emerging from Oxford. Mark will play an important role in shaping our Deep Tech strategy and ensuring we back the most promising research at its earliest stages.”
Mark Chadwick, Scientist-in-Residence at OSE, said:
“I’m thrilled to join OSE as I know first-hand that Oxford’s research ecosystem is one of the most dynamic in the world. I look forward to working closely on the ground with leading academics and entrepreneurs to help translate groundbreaking discoveries into impactful companies.”
