Oxford, UK – 15 April 2025 – Oxford Science Enterprises (OSE) today announces the appointment of Harry Clifford as Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) within its HealthTech team. He brings with him extensive experience across biotechnology, AI, venture-building and academic research.
Harry was previously part of the healthcare team at NVIDIA, where he led product development for Digital Biology frameworks and Software Development Kits (SDKs), including Parabricks for high-accuracy accelerated genomics analysis and BioNeMo for AI-driven drug discovery.
He also co-founded Cambridge Cancer Genomics (CCG.ai), a Y Combinator and Merck-Accelerator-backed start-up using liquid biopsies and deep learning to match cancer patients to the best treatments. The team was recognised with numerous accolades including Forbes 30 under 30 and Financial Times 100 Digital Champions before exiting to Dante Labs in 2021.
Harry holds an MSci from The University of Nottingham, a DPhil from the University of Oxford, and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge, with academic work spanning human genetics, computational biology and data-driven healthcare.
In his new role, Harry will support OSE’s HealthTech team to identify new high-impact ventures – and ultimately co-found one – drawing on his track record across entrepreneurship, industry and academia, with a particular focus on AI and digital biology.
Heather Roxborough, Senior Partner and Head of HealthTech at OSE, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Harry to the team as our latest Entrepreneur in Residence. At OSE, we work closely with seasoned entrepreneurs like Harry to help them shape and scale their next venture. His deep expertise in building healthtech products and companies will be invaluable as we continue to turn Oxford’s world-class science into breakthrough start-ups that address the most urgent challenges in healthcare.”
Harry Clifford, Entrepreneur-in-Residence at OSE, commented:
“We are at a pivotal moment in healthcare, where AI and digital biology have the potential to make a real difference in how we approach medicine. The Oxford ecosystem is rich with groundbreaking research, and OSE is uniquely positioned to turn these innovations into real-world solutions. I’m excited to join the team and help harness these technologies to build impactful ventures that will shape the future of healthcare.”
OSE attracts experienced founders and proven leaders to Oxford through its Entrepreneurs-in-Residence programme, partnering with them to identify and ultimately co-found new ventures. The programme provides access to Oxford’s world-class science, capital and a clear path to spinout. This approach has already led to the creation of pioneering companies including neurology care platform Neu Health, photonic chip company Salience Labs, and neuromodulation company Amber Therapeutics.
Its HealthTech team is focused on creating companies in AI imaging, big data analytics, digital pharma services, tech-enabled care delivery, smart diagnostics, next-generation medical devices and life science tools – innovations that will impact not only patients’ lives but entire healthcare systems.
