Former OSE Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Founder & CEO, Salience Labs
Vaysh Kewada is co‑founder and CEO of Salience Labs – an Oxford Science Enterprises–backed spinout building ultrafast photonic chips for next‑generation AI hardware.
Vaysh co‑founded the company in 2021 after serving as an Entrepreneur‑in‑Residence at OSE, where she helped unite research from Oxford and Münster University to commercialise a new type of optical computing architecture.
Salience’s photonic chips process data using light – not electrons – enabling high bandwidth, low latency connectivity for improved AI model performance. The company raised $30m in Series A funding in 2025, led by ICM HPQC Fund and Applied Ventures.
Before founding Salience, Vaysh earned an MSc in Physics from Imperial College London and worked in strategy consulting at McKinsey. She was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in 2023.
