Former PhD Researcher, Plant Sciences, Founder & CEO, Wild Bioscience
Dr. Ross Hendron is a systems biologist and co-founder of Wild Bioscience, an Oxford Science Enterprises-backed spinout harnessing AI and precision breeding to develop resilient crops for a food-secure future.
Ross completed his doctoral research at the University of Oxford’s Department of Plant Sciences in the lab of Prof. Steve Kelly. His research laid the foundation for Wild Bio’s core technology, which leverages the evolutionary innovations of wild plants to design improved crops.
Ross launched Wild Bio in 2021 after a stint as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at OSE, securing £12m in seed funding co-led by OSE and Braavos Capital. He has led the company from early-stage research through to product development, international field trials, and strategic partnerships with leading agricultural organisations.
